Zoom Time EP: Lyrics

BLEEP BLEEP ZOOM ZOOM
SHE’S A ROCK
HOLD BACK TIME

THE PEVENSEY WHALE

BLEEP BLEEP ZOOM ZOOM

Bleep bleep, zoom zoom,
Everytime I look at you my heart goes boom
Bleep bleep, zoom zoom,
Jump on board my rocket ship I’ll take you to the moon

She’s my, she’s my planet queen
She’s a supertuff girl if you know what I mean
She’s my, she’s my planet queen
Made from polytetrafluoroethylene

She’s my bebop Barbarella
She got a space ship down in her cellar
Seven, six, five, four, three, two, one
Are you ready for blast off ‘cos here I come

SHE’S A ROCK

She’s stepping out without a care
She’s got diamonds caught in her hair
And everybody understands
She’s got the whole wide world in her hands
It’s a plain and a natural fact
She ain’t putting on no act
What you see is what you get
She ain’t even started yet

She’s a rock – but you’ll never roll her
She’s a rock – but you can’t control her.

Monday, Tuesday, silver screen
Wednesday, Thursday, T.V. queen
Friday night she’s breaking hearts,
Saturday comes & It’s back to the start
She’s a rock

She’s a special guest on the late-late show
She’s making a movie with Tarantino
A brand new book and a new perfume
The conversation stops when she walks in the room
The Paparazzi’s closing in
They know where she’s going and they know where she’s been
But that’s the price you pay for fame
You reach for the stars, you get caught in the rain

Monday, Tuesday, the rumours roll
Wednesday, Thursday, out of control
Friday’s set to overload
Saturday comes and she’s back on the road
But she’s not gonna kiss & tell
You know she’s no Jezebel
Now she’s public property
You’re losing your heart and she’s holding the key.

HOLD BACK TIME

You can sail across the ocean
You can leave the past behind
You can search the halls of wisdom
For the reason and the rhyme
It takes a lot of planning
To commit the perfect crime
You can trip the light fantastic
But you’ll never hold back time

There’s a world I used to live in
That was innocent and free
But the world outside my window
Doesn’t look like much to me
The past is always perfect
When you leave it all behind
Go pack another suitcase
Honey, you’ll never hold back time

But if you hold me in your arms tonight babe
We won’t worry about a thing
Together we will melt this wall of ice babe
Cause in our hearts it’s always Spring

The innocence of childhood
Is a rare and a precious thing
When you’re living out there in the wildwood
There’s an endless song to sing
So give me love and understanding
Tell me everything is fine
And I’ll hold you close tonight babe
But I just can’t hold back time

So we worry for the future
While we’re living in the past
Oh but time is like a bullet
And it’s moving way too fast
There’s a bottle on the table
Let’s have one more glass of wine
Then we’ll burn a thousand bridges
But we’ll never hold back time

And if you hold me in your arms tonight babe
We won’t worry about a thing
Together we will melt this wall of ice babe
Cause in our hearts it’s always Spring

Yes I’ll hold you in my arms tonight babe
We won’t worry about a thing
Together we will melt this wall of ice babe
Cos in our hearts it’s always Spring

If you hold me in your arms tonight babe
We won’t worry about a thing
Together we will melt this wall of ice babe
Cause in our hearts it’s always Spring

THE PEVENSEY WHALE

Well Jonah had a tussle with a creature from the deep
And Moby Dick got hit but he never missed a beat
Now won’t you gather round people, we’re about to set sail
Cause this is the story of the Pevensey Whale
Around about a hundred and fifty years ago
The tide was riding high and the wind began to blow

Old Bill Richards was the coastguardsman
He thought he saw a ship that was beached up on the sand
But a razorback whale that was moving with the flow
Got caught up in the undertow
So there was eighty tonnes of razorback lying on the shore
Well, he ain’t gonna swim the seven seas no more.

Well he was seventy foot long he had a two ton tail
The people came a running just to see that whale
The local Sussex villagers they all played host
As 40,000 people hit the Pevensey coast.
They opened up a brand new station on the line
But the razorback whale was running out of time

So they sold his bones to the history museum
They hung ’em in the entrance hall so everyone could see ’em
And the only thing that’s left from all the blubber and smoke
Is a whole heap of whale bones hanging from a rope
But once upon a time when he was wild and free
He was a master of the ocean he was king of the sea

Whale meat again (don’t give me that)
Whale meat again
I ain’t seen nothing like it
Since I don’t remember when
